Release notes for Abscissa 4.0.2 date 2020-02-18 by Ruediger Bruehl (ruediger.bruehl@ptb.de) Version 4 of Abscissa is the first 64-bit release. Many changes have be made to the source code mainly to replace outdated AppKit user interface elements with current. The new Abscissa is compatible with macOS 10.12 to 10.15 and above. Version 4.0.2 is not a well tested release. Please report crashes and errors to me. Changes compared to version 4.0.0 - fixed missing text field on macOS 10.12 (all NSGridView were replaced by NSStackView) - fixed warnings (in Console) about NSLayoutConstraint - fixed crash on interpolation of unsorted data - fixed crash on too many axis ticks - fixed missing marker bar - fixed position of some symbols - fixed unresponsive buttons in DataViewer - fixed incorrect date axis - and many more issues fixed Known issues on which I am working are: - the order of text fields selected by pressing TAB-key is not perfect - text boxes on the canvas show handles (grey squares) correctly once selected but the mouse does not change accordingly when moved over - most tool tips got lost - the document window renders temporarily black while printing dialog - some careless positioning of user interface elements - distribution via Apple App Store is missing - tabs in main window not working Hints: The default layout file in ~/Library/Preferences/AbscissaStartUp.abs is ignored. When you create a new one it is advised to make desired changes on a new and empty document. Use Menu/File/New and store the default via Menu/File/Save/Save_Layout_as_Default. The file ~/Library/Preferences/Abscissa4StartUp.abs will be created. Although the file format ( .absd ) is still the same as before please keep a backup of your old documents when testing version 4.0.2.
